AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1323

2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 1323 by replacing
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4    "Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by
5changing Sections 11-42-1, 11-42-2, 11-42-3, 11-42-4, 11-42-5,
6and 11-42-6 as follows:
 
7    (65 ILCS 5/11-42-1)  (from Ch. 24, par. 11-42-1)
8    Sec. 11-42-1. The corporate authorities of each
9municipality may license, tax, and regulate all businesses
10located within their corporate limits. The corporate
11authorities of each municipality may tax auctioneers, private
12detectives, demolition contractors, money changers, bankers,
13brokers other than insurance brokers, barbers, and the keepers
14or owners of lumber yards, lumber storehouses, livery stables,
15public scales, ice cream parlors, coffee houses, florists,
16detective agencies, barber shops and sellers of tickets for

1theatricals, shows, amusements, athletic events and other
2exhibitions at a place other than the theatre or location where
3the theatricals, shows, amusements, athletic events and other
4exhibitions are given or exhibited. No municipality may impose
5a tax under this Section, or impose any other amusement or
6exhibition tax, on ticket sales, membership fees, or any other
7charges for attending exhibitions or attractions associated
8with a zoological park authorized under Section 40 of the Cook
9County Forest Preserve District Act, nor may any municipality
10impose a duty to collect a tax under this Section, or any other
11amusement or exhibition tax, on any owner or operator of a
12zoological park authorized under Section 40 of the Cook County
13Forest Preserve District Act.

2motor vehicles or parts thereof, rags, and any second-hand
3article whatsoever.
4    The corporate authorities also may forbid any person from
5purchasing or receiving from minors without the written consent
6of their parents or guardians, any article whatsoever.

11for cabs, busses, railroads, ships, hotels, public houses, and
