SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Gregory L. Lage of Aurora, who passed
4away on September 20, 2010; and
 
5    WHEREAS, He was born April 5, 1957 in Aurora, the son of
6Elsie (Johnson) Lage and the late Richard Lage; and
 
7    WHEREAS, He worked for the family business, Ray Lage Curb
8and Gutter, for over thirty five years, managing the business
9after his father's death; he poured his heart and soul into his
10work; and
 
11    WHEREAS, He was a 1975 graduate of East Aurora High School;
12he was a member of St. Olaf Lutheran Church and spent many
13years playing for the church's softball team; and
 
14    WHEREAS, He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan, and was
15enormously elated to see them win the Stanley Cup in his
16lifetime; he played hockey for many years and coached a youth
17hockey team; he was also an enthusiastic golfer and mentored
18both a girls and boys golf team; he also had a passion for
19fishing, during the winter enjoyed snow plowing, and was a
20member of the Tiger Club of Aurora; and

1    WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his father, Richard
2Lage; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Gregory Lage is survived by his loving wife,
4Martha (Clementz) Lage; his daughter, Stephanie; his two sons,
5Scott and Daniel; his mother, Elsie (Johnson) Lage; his loving
6brother, Alan (Michelle) Lage; his in-laws, the Clementz
7family, who treasured him like a brother; as well as his aunts,
8uncles, over fifty nieces and nephews, and many loving friends;
9therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12his family and friends, the passing of Gregory Lage; and be it
13further
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15presented to the family of Gregory Lage as a symbol of our
16sincere sympathy.
