SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Michael Durrell McCurine, who passed away
4 on July 19, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Michael McCurine was born on June 8, 1985 in
6 Chicago; his parents were Michael Hunley and Angela McCurine
7 Williams; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Michael McCurine attended Hinton Elementary
9 School and graduated from Earle Elementary School; he then
10 attended Simeon High School until his junior year, when he
11 relocated to St. Paul, Minnesota and received his GED from a
12 special program; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Michael McCurine confessed a hope in Christ and
14 was baptized at Shiloh Baptist Church in Chicago; he later
15 joined the House of Joy under the leadership of Pastor Johnny
16 Lacy and was active in the maintenance of the church; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Michael McCurine is survived by his parents; his
18 daughters, Imani, Makiya, and Mya; his grandmother, Jannie
19 McCurine; his grandfather, J.D. Hunley; his grandparents,
20 Stella and Lacy; his brothers, Matthew and Marcus; his sisters,
21 Monika and Trinette; his many other relatives, nieces, nephews,

1 cousins, and friends; and his special friends, Kinyata and Ms.
2 Domo; and
 
3     WHEREAS, Michael McCurine will be remembered by all who
4 knew and loved him as a thoughtful, respectful, helpful, and
5 humorous young man whose beautiful personality and love for his
6 family endeared him to everyone he met; therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9 his family and friends, the passing of Michael Durrell
10 McCurine; and be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to the family of Michael McCurine as an expression of
13 our sympathy.
