SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of William H. "Bill" St. Peters, who passed
4 away on July 11, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, William St. Peters was born August 13, 1943 in
6 Alton; he was the son of Herbert and Mildred "Millie" St.
7 Peters; he married Norma Volentine on October 15, 2008 in
8 Jerseyville; and
 
9     WHEREAS, William St. Peters graduated from Alton High
10 School in 1961; he served his country with pride and
11 distinction as a member of the United States Navy during the
12 Vietnam War; and
 
13     WHEREAS, William St. Peters was the owner and president of
14 Safety Partners LTD in Godfrey; and
 
15     WHEREAS, William St. Peters was the Lieutenant Governor of
16 the Illinois-Iowa District 34 Kiwanis and a member of the
17 Franklin Masonic Lodge 25; he was a member of the Ainad Shrine
18 Temple, the board of directors of the Riverbend Growth
19 Association, and the Wood River Moose Lodge; he was a volunteer
20 for the Special Olympics for 28 years; he was a past president
21 of the American Heart Association, served on the board for the

1 March of Dimes, and was an accomplished Refinery Fire &
2 Emergency Response Instructor at Texas A&M; and
 
3     WHEREAS, William St. Peters was preceded in death by his
4 parents; and
 
5     WHEREAS, William St. Peters is survived by his wife; his
6 sons and their wives, Chris and Michelle St. Peters and Chad
7 and Rene' St. Peters; his stepdaughter, Diane Stallard; his
8 stepson and his wife, Dave and Becky Volentine; his
9 grandchildren, Keely and Kaylynn St. Peters, Colten and Nic
10 Daily, Chase St. Peters, Chris and Scott Stallard, and Niki,
11 Dain, and Mason Volentine; and his great-grandchild, Emmie
12 Stallard; therefore, be it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15 his family and friends, the passing of William H. "Bill" St.
16 Peters; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to the family of William St. Peters as an expression
19 of our sympathy.
