SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Retired Army Command Sergeant Major
4 Robert G. Wolfe of Glen Carbon, who passed away on May 5, 2009;
5 and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was born on July 17, 1929, in Granite City; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He retired from the United States Army after 20
8 years of service as a Command Sergeant Major; he was decorated
9 many time during his career, including the Purple Heart and the
10 Bronze Star; during his service he did two tours in Vietnam and
11 a tour in Korea; he also served five years in the United States
12 Marine Corps; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He was a member of the Marine Corps League, AUSA,
14 the Collinsville VFW, and St. Cecilia's Catholic Church; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, William
16 and Faye, nee Snelling, Wolfe; his sister, Betty Minner; his
17 brother-in-law, Bob Henry; and his grandson, Bobby Powers; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Retired Army Command Sergeant Major Robert G.
19 Wolfe is survived by his wife, Josephine, nee Scaglione, Wolfe,
20 whom he married on December 30, 1960; his daughters, Josephine

1 Henderson and Geraldine Makler; his sons, Timothy (Rene)
2 Gallaher and Bobby (Linda) Wolfe; his six grandchildren, Lisa
3 Powers, Wendy Sinn, Corie Devall, Matt Wolfe, and Keegan and
4 Kelly Gallaher; his three great-grandchildren, Sean Severson,
5 and Grant and Macy Devall; his sisters, Bonnie (Roy) Knolkemper
6 and Shirley Henry; his brother, William (Marie) Wolfe; and his
7 brother-in-law, Sam Minner; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of Retired Army Command
11 Sergeant Major Robert G. Wolfe; and be it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Robert Wolfe as a symbol of our
14 sincere sympathy.
