SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Billie L. Schuler of Granite City, who
4 passed away on April 27, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Billie Schuler was born on April 18, 1932, in
6 Venice, Illinois; her parents were Chester and Lola, nee
7 Thompson, Lanham; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Billie Schuler retired as board secretary of the
9 Granite City Park District in 1999; she was also a past
10 president of the Tri-Cities Area Chamber of Commerce Women's
11 Division; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Billie Schuler was a member of the Holy Family
13 Catholic Church; she was a past madam president of Eagles
14 Auxiliary 1126 and member of its Kitchen Band; she was a member
15 of the Granite City BPW; she was a past president of the
16 Warrior Boosters; she was also very active in the Girl Scouts
17 and was a volunteer with the United Way for many years; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Billie Schuler was preceded in death by her
19 parents and her sister, Maxine Holman; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Billie Schuler is survived by her sons, Eric Allan

1 (Diane Hosto) Schuler, Frederick Paul (Lisa) Schuler III, and
2 Joseph Michael (Jamie) Schuler; her daughters, Cynthia Ann
3 (Lawrence J. Sr.) Gavilsky, Paula Marie (Dale) Hubbard, Cathy
4 Lee (Danny) Dummerth and Theresa Lynn (Eric) Mitchell; her
5 sister, Mildred Boyd; and her grandchildren, Lawrence James
6 Jr., Emily Anna, and Tessa Jillian Gavilsky, Katie Allison
7 Hubbard, Jeremy Jacob, Amy Marie, and Kimberly Nicol Dummerth,
8 Freddy Paul Schuler IV, Oliver Warren, Riley Jo Mitchell, and
9 Ean Joseph Schuler; therefore, be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 her family and friends, the passing of Billie L. Schuler; and
13 be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of Billie Schuler as an expression of
16 our sympathy.
