SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Kenneth Decker of East Peoria, who passed
4 away on April 26, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Kenneth Decker was born on January 24, 1932 in
6 Lenoir City, Tennessee; his parents were Roy and Martha Wright
7 Freels Decker; he married Anna M. Moke on March 25, 1960 in
8 East Peoria; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Kenneth Decker served with the Army National Guard
10 from 1950 to 1959 and was called to active duty for three of
11 those years; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Kenneth Decker served as an East Peoria fireman
13 for 23 years until his retirement in 1982; he later worked in
14 animal control for the City of East Peoria until 1994; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Kenneth Decker was a member of the Glad Tidings
16 Assembly of God Church in East Peoria for more than 30 years;
17 and
 
18     WHEREAS, Kenneth Decker was preceded in death by his
19 parents; his six brothers and their wives; his niece and
20 nephew; his five brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law; and

1 his four nephews by marriage; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Kenneth Decker is survived by his daughter, Denise
3 (Ignacio) Alverez; his sons, Don (Patti) Decker, Dennis (Linda)
4 Decker, and Dan (Christy) Decker; his grandsons, Chris (Jo)
5 Whrel, Michael Maalouf, Bill Whrel, Scott Maalouf, Reese
6 Decker, and Zachary and Troy Decker; his granddaughters, Kira,
7 Alicia, Amber, Allison, and Katelyn Decker; his
8 great-granddaughter, Britney; his sisters by marriage, Doris
9 (Gene) Fenwick and Betty (John) Walters; and his many nieces
10 and nephews, including Charlotte (William) Chaney and Jack
11 (Betty) Decker; therefore, be it
 
12     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
13 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
14 his family and friends, the death of Kenneth Decker; and be it
15 further
 
16     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17 presented to the family of Kenneth Decker as an expression of
18 our sympathy.
