SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Gene B. Wickenhauser of Godfrey, who
4 passed away on February 1, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Gene B. Wickenhauser was born November 30, 1928,
6 in Alton, the son of Joseph J. and Margaret G. (Dixon)
7 Wickenhauser Sr.; on June 27, 1950, he married the former
8 Dorothy "Dolly" Joehl at St. Ambrose Catholic Church; and
 
9     WHEREAS, He and his brother, Edward Wickenhauser, co-owned
10 and operated Wickenhauser Construction Company in Godfrey,
11 retiring in 1992 after 35 years of service; they proudly built
12 homes in the Alton/Godfrey area, including River-Aire
13 Subdivision in Godfrey; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He was a pilot, an avid fisherman, hunter, and
15 golfer and above all loved his family and enjoyed spending time
16 with them; and he was a longtime member of St. Ambrose Catholic
17 Church in Godfrey; and
 
18     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents and his
19 brother, Edward Wickenhauser; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Gene Wickenhauser is survived by his wife,

1 Dorothy; his daughters, Jeanie Stratton and her husband, Chuck,
2 and Nancy Hoefert and her husband, Jim; his son, Mark
3 Wickenhauser; his grandson, Ryan Hoefert; his brothers, Joseph
4 Wickenhauser and his wife, Nancy, Richard Wickenhauser and his
5 wife, Dottie, Father Jerry Wickenhauser, and James
6 Wickenhauser and his wife, Linda; his brother-in-law and
7 sister-in-law, Jim and Juanita Joehl; and many nieces and
8 nephews; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 his family and friends, the passing of Gene Wickenhauser; and
12 be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Gene Wickenhauser as a symbol of our
15 sincere sympathy.
