SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Gerald "Jerry" Appenzeller of Mackinaw,
4 who passed away on February 3, 2009; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Gerald Appenzeller was born on July 20, 1937 in
6 Normal; his parents were Clarence and Mary Etta Walker
7 Appenzeller; he married Arlene C. McGuffin on September 2, 1961
8 in Round Lake; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Gerald Appenzeller served in the United States Air
10 National Guard from 1958 to 1964, which included the time of
11 the Berlin Crisis; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Gerald Appenzeller was a farmer for most of his
13 life in the Mackinaw area; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Gerald Appenzeller was a member of the Mackinaw
15 Christian Church, where he had been a deacon, elder, and board
16 chairman; he also had been a member of the Tazewell County
17 Board, Tazewell County Sheriff's Merit Commission, and
18 Mackinaw Valley Water Authority; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Gerald Appenzeller was preceded in death by his
20 parents; and

1     WHEREAS, Gerald Appenzeller is survived by his wife; his
2 daughter, Nancy (Steve) Tate; his son, J.J. (Dani) Appenzeller;
3 his grandchildren, Travis Tate, Alison Tate, Lilly Mai
4 Appenzeller, Natasha Appenzeller, and Hayden Appenzeller; his
5 twin brother, John Appenzeller; and his sister, Rhea (Jim)
6 Cornwell; therefore, be it
 
7     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL
8 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
9 his family and friends, the passing of Gerald "Jerry"
10 Appenzeller; and be it further
 
11     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to the family of Gerald Appenzeller as an expression
13 of our sympathy.
