AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1357

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1357 on page 3, by
3 replacing line 9 with the following:
4 "leases real property that is"; and
 
5 on page 6, line 4, by replacing "immediate" with "immediate";
6 and
 
7 by replacing line 24 on page 13 through line 3 on page 14 with
8 the following:
9 "excavation or demolition operations shall immediately notify
10 the affected utility and the State-Wide One-Call Notice System
11 and cease excavation in the area of the damage when the damaged
12 facility is a threat to life or property or if otherwise
13 required by law or, in the case of damage or dislocation in";
14 and
 
15 on page 14, line 11, by replacing "directed to do so by" with

1 "under the supervision or advisement of"; and
 
2 on page 14, line 12, after the period, by inserting the
3 following:
4 "At no time shall a person under this Act be required by a
5 utility facility owner or operator to attempt to repair, clamp,
6 or constrict a damaged utility facility.".
