HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Dorothy
4A. Clementz of Montgomery, formerly of Aurora, who passed away
5on July 21, 2010; and
 
6    WHEREAS, She was born October 15, 1917 in Aurora; she was a
7lifelong member of St. Nicholas Church in Aurora; she graduated
8from Madonna High School in 1936, and received the Madonna
9Alumna of the Year Award in 1960; for over 50 years she sang in
10the church choir, the Aurora Chorale, and throughout the Aurora
11Deanery; Dorothy and her sister Dolores sang at many area
12weddings for 30 years; and
 
13    WHEREAS, She was president of the St. Ann Sodality of St.
14Nicholas Church; the president of the Marmion Mothers Club; the
15secretary of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women; a founding
16member of the Rockford Diocesan Chapter of the National
17Catholic Music Educators Association; a member of the Mercy
18Center Auxiliary; and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the
19Knights of Columbus #736; and
 
20    WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, George
21W. Clementz; her son, Mark W. Clementz; 3 of her sisters, Anna
22Mae Weiland, Dolores Kramer, and Collette Kranik; 2 of her

1brothers, Wilfred Kramer and Walter Kramer; and her
2daughter-in-law, Susan Clementz; and
 
3    WHEREAS, Dorothy Clementz is survived by her daughters,
4Laura (Gerry) Knuth, Mary (Dick) Gardner, Sarah (Norb) Weber,
5and Martha (Greg) Lage; her sons, Douglas (Joy) Clementz, Peter
6(Toni) Clementz, Gregory (Denise) Clementz, Patrick (Diane)
7Clementz, Samuel (Barb) Clementz, Michael (Lynda) Clementz,
8and Christopher (Jean) Clementz; her 33 grandchildren; her 16
9great-grandchildren; her 2 great-great-grandchildren; her
10sister, Audrey Schmitt; her brothers, Robert (Ginni) Kramer and
11Jerome (Camille) Kramer; her dear sister-in-law, Helen Kramer;
12and many loving nieces and nephews; and her dear friends of the
13Tuesday Morning Bridge Club; therefore, be it
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
15NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
16mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of
17Dorothy Clementz; and be it further
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
19presented to the family of Dorothy Clementz as a symbol of our
20sincere sympathy.
