HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of Clyde G.
4 Howell of Yorkville, who passed away on February 14, 2010; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Clyde G. Howell was born on the family farm on May
6 24, 1916, the son of Charles and Hazel (Gabel) Howell; Mr.
7 Howell was united in marriage on August 8, 1942 to the former
8 Miss Yvonne Faxon and they spent the next 67 happy years of
9 their lives together; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He served his country proudly as a member of the
11 Illinois National Guard; he was a lifelong member of the United
12 Methodist Church in Plattville; Mr. Howell was a longtime
13 farmer in the Kendall County area; and
 
14     WHEREAS, During the 1960s, he was a volunteer Deputy on the
15 Kendall County Sheriff's Department; Clyde was an avid
16 sportsman, who enjoyed both hunting and fishing; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He taught both gun safety and instructions to the
18 Boy Scouts of America; 12 years ago the he started a youth camp
19 for instruction in shotgun, rifle, handgun, trap, and archery;
20 Mr. Howell was the author of several sports and travel magazine
21 articles, as well as being a talented photographer; and

1     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles
2 and Hazel Howell and a sister in infancy; and
 
3     WHEREAS, He was a loving husband, father, grandfather,
4 great-grandfather, brother, and uncle who will be deeply missed
5 by both family and friends; he is survived by his wife, Yvonne
6 Howell; his children, Candy (Delbert) Thomas, Julie (Barney)
7 McKee, and Jay Howell; his six grandchildren, Sean (Kara)
8 Thomas, Sarah Thomas, Quinn and Kellye McKee, Christopher
9 (Jennifer) Howell, and Nathaniel (Sarah) Howell; his three
10 great-grandchildren, Aidan, Isaac, and Kadence Thomas; his
11 sister, Elizabeth (Albert) Johnson; as well as several nieces
12 and nephews; therefore, be it
 
13     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
14 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
15 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Clyde
16 Howell; and be it further
 
17     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18 presented to the family of Clyde Howell as a symbol of our
19 sincere sympathy.
