HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Charles Eugene
4 Doll on the occasion of his retirement on December 31, 2009,
5 after nearly 30 years of dedicated service with the Orland Park
6 Police Department; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Charles Doll was born on January 29, 1955 in
8 Chicago; he is one of the two children of Charles and Millicent
9 Doll; and
 
10     WHEREAS, Charles Doll has had a long and distinguished
11 career in law enforcement; in 1974, he joined the Sauk Village
12 Police Department as a Cadet and dispatcher; he later became an
13 Auxiliary Police Officer for the department; in December of
14 1976, he was appointed to serve as a police officer with the
15 Olympia Fields Police Department; and
 
16     WHEREAS, On January 20, 1980, Charles Doll began his career
17 with the Orland Park Police Department; he served in various
18 divisions within the department, with duties including patrol,
19 investigations, juvenile operations, Special Response Team,
20 Firearms and Tactical Training, Recruit Field Training, and
21 Administration; in August of 1990, he was promoted to the rank
22 of Sergeant; in May of 1997, he was promoted to the rank of

1 Lieutenant; in February of 2000, he was promoted to the
2 administrative position of Commander of the Investigations
3 Division; and
 
4     WHEREAS, In 2002, Charles Doll was awarded the Stryker
5 Outstanding Service Award by the Illinois Tactical Officers
6 Association for his contributions toward training Illinois
7 SWAT officers; in 2007, he was again recognized by the Illinois
8 Tactical Officers Association with the Meritorious Service
9 Medal for his contributions to the organization's training
10 initiatives; he also served as Vice President of the Illinois
11 Tactical Officers Association's Board of Directors; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Charles Doll married Suzanne Matulis in May of
13 1987; in August of 1992, the couple was blessed with a son,
14 Ryan Charles; therefore, be it
 
15     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17 congratulate Charles Doll on the occasion of his retirement and
18 wish him many happy and healthy retirement years; and be it
19 further
 
20     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21 presented to Charles Doll as a symbol of our esteem and
22 respect.
