HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the passing of Major
4 David Audo of St. Joseph. Major Audo served in the United
5 States Army and died in the service of his country while
6 serving in Baghdad, Iraq, on October 27, 2009; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He attended St. Joseph-Ogden High School and went
8 on to the University of Illinois ROTC program, where he proudly
9 graduated with distinction; he held a Bachelor of Science
10 degree in Architecture from the University of Illinois, a
11 Master's degree in Business and Organizational Security
12 Management from Webster University, and was a graduate of the
13 United States Army Military Police School, the Intermediate
14 Level Education Program at the United States Army Command and
15 General Staff College, and the Defense Language Institute's
16 Foreign Language Center; and
 
17     WHEREAS, He had been awarded two Bronze Stars for
18 meritorious service during combat operations in Iraq and
19 Afghanistan, the NATO Medal for two tours in Kosovo, four Army
20 Achievement medals, two Army Commendation medals, two
21 Meritorious Service medals, as well as numerous other awards;
22 and

1     WHEREAS, He possessed a quick wit and a big, mischievous
2 grin; he enjoyed fast cars and faster motorcycles, but his
3 highest priorities were always reserved for his wife, his
4 children, and his steadfast duty to the United States Army,
5 where he served with dignity, honor, and respect; and
 
6     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Audo
7 and Rosilla Audo Hutson; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Major David Audo is survived by his wife, Rebecca
9 Johnson Audo; his son, Austin Audo; and his daughter, Ashley
10 Audo; his brothers, Victor (Julie) Audo and Michael (Julie)
11 Audo; his sisters, Carol Dobbs and Therese (Ron) Eggett; his
12 mother-in-law, Edith Hollen; his father-in-law, Lloyd Johnson;
13 his brother-in-law, Lloyd (Carol) Johnson; his sister-in-law,
14 Star (Brad) Andrews; his brother-in-law, Randy (Sue) Johnson;
15 and several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
16     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
17 NINETY-SIXTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
18 mourn, along with his family, friends, and a grateful nation,
19 the passing of United States Army Major David L. Audo; and be
20 it further
 
21     RESOLVED, That we honor the memory of Major David L. Audo
22 and his willingness to serve his country, which led to him

1 making the ultimate sacrifice; and be it further
 
2     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to the family of Major David Audo as a symbol of our
4 sincere sympathy.
