    Amends the General Assembly Compensation Act. Requires members of the General Assembly to forfeit 12 days of compensation in fiscal year 2011. Effective immediately.

1     AN ACT concerning State government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The General Assembly Compensation Act is amended
5 by adding Section 1.6 as follows:
 
6     (25 ILCS 115/1.6 new)
7     Sec. 1.6. Fiscal year 2011 compensation. During the fiscal
8 year beginning on July 1, 2010, every member of the General
9 Assembly is required to forfeit 12 days of compensation. The
10 State Comptroller shall deduct the equivalent of 1/261 of the
11 annual compensation of each member from the compensation of
12 that member in each month of the fiscal year. For purposes of
13 this Section, annual compensation includes compensation paid
14 to each member by the State for one year of service pursuant to
15 Section 1, except any payments made for mileage and allowances
16 for travel and meals. The forfeiture required by this Section
17 is not considered a change in salary and shall not impact
18 pension or other benefits provided to members of the General
19 Assembly.
 
20     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
21 becoming law.
