1     AN ACT concerning transportation.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Illinois Vehicle Code is amended by adding
5 Section 6-205.5 as follows:
 
6     (625 ILCS 5/6-205.5 new)
7     Sec. 6-205.5. Suspension of driving privileges of person
8 with outstanding warrant. Upon receipt of a properly completed
9 and sworn affidavit, in a form prescribed by the Secretary of
10 State that shall include, at a minimum, the person's name,
11 address, and driver's license information, stating that the
12 person has an outstanding warrant for a felony and a copy of
13 the outstanding warrant for a felony from a law enforcement
14 agency, the Secretary of State shall immediately suspend the
15 driving privileges of the person. After the warrant is no
16 longer outstanding, it shall be the responsibility of the
17 person to apply to have his or her driving privileges restored
18 in a form prescribed by the Secretary of State. The person
19 applying to have his or her driving privileges reinstated shall
20 also submit to the Secretary of State a certified copy of the
21 court transcript demonstrating that the warrant is no longer
22 outstanding.
