    Amends the Counties Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning the legal effect of a State's attorney's failure to give the bond or take the oath required by statute.

1     AN ACT concerning local government.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by changing Section
5 3-9004 as follows:
 
6     (55 ILCS 5/3-9004)  (from Ch. 34, par. 3-9004)
7     Sec. 3-9004. Failure to give bond or take oath. If any
8 person elected to the the office of State's attorney shall fail
9 to give bond, or take the oath required of him, within twenty
10 days after he is declared elected, the office shall be deemed
11 vacant, and if, being required to give additional bond, as
12 provided in Section 3-9003 hereof, he fails to do so within
13 twenty days after notice of such requirements, his office may,
14 in the discretion of the governor, be declared vacant and
15 filled as provided by law.
