SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Harry J. Orrill of Godfrey, who passed
4 away on May 30, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Harry J. Orrill was born on February 5, 1918 in
6 Yorkstown, Ohio; his parents were Emmett and Rebecca Orrill; he
7 married Mildred Likes in 1939 in Bowling Green, Missouri; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Harry J. Orrill served his country with pride and
9 distinction as a member of the United States Navy during World
10 War II; and
 
11     WHEREAS, Harry J. Orrill was employed at the Olin
12 Corporation for over 20 years and then founded the Orrill Bus
13 Line and the Godfrey Charter Bus Line, which he owned and
14 operated; he loved driving his car, the "Orrill 1", all day
15 long; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Harry J. Orrill was a member of the Alton VFW Post
17 1308, the Alton Moose Lodge 951, Alton Eagles Lodge F.O.E. 254,
18 and the Alton American Legion Post 354; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Harry J. Orrill was preceded in death by his wife;
20 his parents; his son-in-law, Dennis Cox; his brother, Joe

1 Orrill; and his stepsister, Madeline Hall; and
 
2     WHEREAS, Harry J. Orrill is survived by his daughter,
3 Sharon Cox; his son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Michelle
4 Orrill; his grandchildren, Sean Robinson, Terri Olsen, Traci
5 Quigley, Jack Orrill Jr., and Brian Orrill; his 13
6 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; and his
7 special friend, Billie Dunnagan; therefore, be it
 
8     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
9 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10 his family and friends, the passing of Harry J. Orrill; and be
11 it further
 
12     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13 presented to the family of Harry J. Orrill as an expression of
14 our sympathy.
