SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of George William Grosch of Waukegan, who
4 passed away on April 17, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, George William Grosch was born on February 1, 1936
6 in Chicago; his parents were George H. and Virginia (nee
7 Burton) Grosch; and
 
8     WHEREAS, George William Grosch was a veteran of the United
9 States Army; and
 
10     WHEREAS, George William Grosch was a longtime resident of
11 Waukegan; he served as a Waukegan Township Trustee, past
12 chairman of the Waukegan Democratic Party, and a longtime
13 democratic precinct committeeman; he had also been active with
14 the Indian Scouts and the Waukegan Soccer Association and was
15 one of the founding members of the Waukegan Near North
16 Association; and
 
17     WHEREAS, George William Grosch was a diehard fan of the
18 Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs; and
 
19     WHEREAS, George William Grosch is preceded in death by his
20 son, Barry Grosch; his parents; his sister, Carol Kee; and his

1 first wife, Carol Jean Grosch; and
 
2     WHEREAS, George William Grosch is survived by his wife of
3 23 years, Lynne (nee Moran) Grosch; his children, Douglas K.
4 Grosch, Lisa M. (Jeff Wait) Link, and Kelly Link; his
5 daughter-in-law, Kelly Grosch; his grandchildren, Megan Grosch
6 and Andrew Wait; his brothers, Gerald (Dinah) Grosch, Glen
7 (Sally) Grosch, and Gregory Grosch; and his many nieces and
8 nephews; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 his family and friends, the passing of George William Grosch;
12 and be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of George William Grosch as an
15 expression of our sympathy.
