SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Margaret Purchase; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase was born on December 25, 1940 in
5 Legrand, Alabama; she was the second of four children born to
6 Hosac and Frances Sharpe; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase was educated at Loveless School
8 in Montgomery, Alabama, Melrose Park Grade School, and Proviso
9 East High School; she accepted Christ at an early age and was
10 baptized at First Baptist Church of Melrose Park under the
11 leadership of Pastor B.S.J. Ford; she participated in Sunday
12 School and Baptist Training Union; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase was united in marriage to Alfred
14 Purchase, a marriage that remained true and loving throughout
15 their lives; to this union, 5 children were born; and
 
16     WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase enjoyed shopping, watching her
17 special shows on television, and the holidays, especially
18 Christmas; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase was preceded in death by her
20 mother, Frances Sharpe; and

1     WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase is survived by her loving and
2 devoted husband, Alfred; her daughters, Kim (Kevin), Diane
3 (Marvin), and Electra (James); her sons, Rudy and Diamond; her
4 father, Hosac Sharpe; her brother, Hosac (Sandy); her sisters,
5 Edwenna (Leslie) and Sandra; her brothers-in-law, George
6 Purchase (Gracie), Donald Purchase, Orville Purchase, and
7 Johnny Purchase; her sisters-in-law, Theresa Washington, Mary
8 Harris, Lois Howard (William), Barbara McKinney (James), Ellen
9 Purchase, and Darlene Cosey (Robert); her granddaughters,
10 Keonna, Crystal, Chanelle, Candice, and Lauren; her grandsons,
11 James and Julius; her great-grandchildren, Kolby, Erick Jr.,
12 and Crista; her aunts, Lottie Chilson, Janie Arrington, Sybil
13 Arrington, and Gladys Arrington; and her many nieces, nephews,
14 cousins, other relatives, and friends; and
 
15     WHEREAS, Margaret Purchase will be remembered by all who
16 knew and loved her as a beautiful, loving, and caring mother,
17 not only for her children, grandchildren, and
18 great-grandchildren, but for her neighbors as well; therefore,
19 be it
 
20     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
21 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
22 her family and friends, the passing of Margaret Purchase; and
23 be it further

1     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the family of Margaret Purchase as an expression
3 of our sympathy.
