SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Dennis L. Childs of East Alton, who
4 passed away on March 3, 2008; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born March 21, 1940, in Grant Park, to
6 Lloyd and LaVerne (Moody) Childs; he married Anita "Kay" Austin
7 Oct. 8, 1960, in East Alton; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He served in the United States Air Force from 1959
9 to 1962; a sergeant and chief of police, he was a dedicated
10 servant to the village of East Alton, serving as village
11 trustee for 12 years; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was a life member of the Illinois Police
13 Association, Madison County Police Association, and the East
14 Alton Police Benevolent and Protective Association; he was also
15 a member of the East Alton American Legion, Post No. 794; and
 
16     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and
17 LaVerne Childs; and
 
18     WHEREAS, Dennis Childs is survived by his wife, Anita
19 "Kay"; his three daughters and sons-in-law, Christina and
20 Joseph Schneider, Rhonda and Keith Moore, and Linda and Dwight

1 Bryant; his son, Duane Childs; his 12 grandchildren; and his
2 two brothers, Raymond Childs, and Roger Childs; therefore, be
3 it
 
4     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
5 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
6 his family and friends, the passing of Dennis L. Childs; and be
7 it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of Dennis L. Childs as a symbol of our
10 sympathy.
