SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Randall E. Robertson of Granite City, who
4 passed away on August 16, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Randall E. Robertson was born July 11, 1920, in
6 Granite City, and was a United States Army Air Corps veteran;
7 and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Robertson was the founding member of the law
9 firm Lueders, Robertson, and Konzen in Granite City; he was a
10 licensed member of the Illinois Bar Association for 60 years;
11 he was a graduate of Saint Louis University, with degrees in
12 political science, history, and law; and
 
13     WHEREAS, He married Betty L. Libby on July 7, 1970; and
 
14     WHEREAS, He served as Illinois Assistant Attorney General
15 for utility regulation from 1970 to 1984; he was on the
16 Illinois State Ethics Committee from 1978 1979; he served as an
17 attorney for the Granite City Park District from 1949 to 1994
18 and was the general campaign chairman of the Tri-Cities
19 Community Chest; he received the Citizen of the Year award from
20 the Granite City Chamber of Commerce and was honored in 1995
21 with the naming of Randall Robertson Park in the former

1 location of Webster School in Granite City; and
 
2     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert
3 and Mary (Stanton) Robertson; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Randall Robertson is survived by his wife, Betty;
5 his three sons, Eric Robertson, William Hartman, and Douglas
6 Hartman; his four daughters, Colleen Hughes, Robyn Rice, Laura
7 McCune, and Linda Irvins; his 12 grandchildren; and his four
8 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 his family and friends, the passing of Randall Robertson; and
12 be it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Randall Robertson as a symbol of our
15 sympathy.
