SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of William Patterson of Canton, who passed
4 away on July 16, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, William Patterson was born on October 15, 1937 in
6 Pinckneyville; he is the son of Harold and Evelyn Ritter; he
7 married Sandra L. Rumler on April 10, 1960; she preceded him in
8 death; he later married Lawanda "Pudge" Sprecher on May 22,
9 1992; and
 
10     WHEREAS, William Patterson graduated from Canton Senior
11 High School in May 1955 and attended Western Illinois
12 University; he worked as an insurance broker and later worked
13 for over 35 years for Yeomans Distributing Company; he later
14 was a car salesman for over 10 years at Coleman Ford in Canton;
15 and
 
16     WHEREAS, William Patterson was a member of Delta Sigma Phi
17 Fraternity, the Elks Lodge 626, and the Moose Lodge; and he was
18 an avid Illini, Chicago Bears, St. Louis Cardinals, and Canton
19 sports fan; and
 
20     WHEREAS, William Patterson was preceded in death by his
21 parents and his wife, Sandra L. Rumler; and

1     WHEREAS, William Patterson is survived by his wife, Lawanda
2 "Pudge" Sprecher; his daughters, Kimberly K. Patterson, Amy
3 (Tony) Patterson-Reynolds, and Elizabeth J. (Jeff) Vogel; his
4 stepson, Donnie A. (Mimi) Sprecher; his stepdaughters, Pamela
5 S. (Rob) Wilson, Lisa I. (Steve) Joachim, and Jan D.
6 Schutkesting; 15 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; his
7 sisters, Janet Krohe and Glee (Bill) Schroeder; his brother,
8 Gene (Jean) Patterson; and many nieces and nephews; therefore,
9 be it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
11 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
12 his family and friends, the passing of William Patterson; and
13 be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
15 presented to the family of William Patterson as an expression
16 of our sympathy.
