SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Jeffrey T. Meyers of Naperville, who
4 passed away on July 29, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Jeffrey T. "Jeff" Meyers was born April 14, 1958
6 in Aurora, the oldest son of Thomas and Geraldine "Geri"
7 Meyers; he was a graduate of Aurora Central Catholic High
8 School, St. Mary's University in Winona, Minnesota with a B.S.
9 Degree, and Aurora University with a Master's Degree; and
 
10     WHEREAS, He was employed for the last 17 years by Omron in
11 Schaumburg as a Technical Services Manager, traveling all over
12 the United States and Japan; and
 
13     WHEREAS, Jeff Meyers was an avid golfer and Chicago White
14 Sox fan; he was a volunteer at Hesed House and was a Board
15 Member of the YMCA, involved with the Y Princess Program; he
16 was also a member of the Naperville Planning Commission; and he
17 participated in "Light the Night", an annual nation-wide walk
18 raising funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society; and
 
19     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his maternal
20 grandparents, Jess (nee Hankes) and Carl Schomer; and paternal
21 grandparents, Cora (nee Bagley) and Otto W. Meyers; and

1     WHEREAS, Jeffrey Meyers is survived by his wife of 23
2 years, Laurie (nee Garnett) Meyers, whom he married May 19,
3 1984; his daughters, Alyssa and Emily; his parents; his
4 brothers, Greg, Dan, and Tom, Jr. (Sheryl) Meyers; his nephews,
5 Thomas III, Christopher, and Matthew Meyers; his
6 parents-in-law, Jim and Jan Garnett, who thought of him like a
7 son; his brothers-in-law, Jeff and Jay (Cindy) Garnett; and his
8 nephews, Tyler and Zachery Garnett; therefore, be it
 
9     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
11 his family and friends, the passing of Jeffrey Meyers; and be
12 it further
 
13     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to the family of Jeffrey Meyers as a symbol of our
15 sympathy.
