SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3 learn of the death of Jane Radostits of Lockport, who passed
4 away on May 11, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Jane Radostits grew up in Chicago; she graduated
6 from the University of Illinois at Chicago and John Marshall
7 Law School; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Jane Radostits began her career as a Cook County
9 prosecutor in 1986; she relocated to DuPage County in 1997; she
10 was the deputy chief of the special prosecutions division in
11 the DuPage County state's attorney's office; she oversaw the
12 prosecution of many types of cases, including major crimes,
13 public corruption, domestic violence and child abuse; and
 
14     WHEREAS, Jane Radostits was named prosecutor of the year by
15 the Illinois Prosecutors Bar Association in 2006; she was
16 active in Republican Party politics and aspired to be a judge;
17 she was one of two finalists for an associate judgeship in 2006
18 and it was widely believed she soon would be appointed to the
19 bench; and
 
20     WHEREAS, Jane Radostits is remembered by all who knew her
21 as a hero to an entire generation of crime victims and their

1 families, especially children, and as a vibrant, personable,
2 and warm person who would go out of her way to do anything for
3 anybody, and frequently did; and
 
4     WHEREAS, Jane Radostits was the beloved wife of Frank
5 Radostits; the devoted mother of Kate and Frankie Radostits;
6 the loving sister of Cathy (Tony) Di Orio and John LaFlamboy;
7 the adored daughter-in-law of Frank Radostits; the cherished
8 sister-in-law of Arlene (Thomas) Cohan; and the favorite Auntie
9 Jane of Melissa, Mark, John, Brian, Mikey, Kyle, Tim, and
10 Michele; therefore, be it
 
11     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL
12 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
13 her family and friends, the passing of Jane Radostits; and be
14 it further
 
15     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16 presented to the family of Jane Radostits as an expression of
17 our sympathy.
