1     AN ACT concerning health.
 
2     Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
 
4     Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the Gang
5 Tattoo Removal Act.
 
6     Section 5. Gang Tattoo Removal Task Force. There is hereby
7 established the Gang Tattoo Removal Task Force, consisting of
8 11 members appointed as follows:
9         (1) Two members from the Illinois Department of Public
10     Health.
11         (2) Two members from the Illinois Department of State
12     Police.
13         (3) Two members from the Illinois Department of
14     Corrections.
15         (4) One member appointed by the Governor.
16         (5) One member appointed by the Speaker of the House of
17     Representatives.
18         (6) One member appointed by the Minority Leader of the
19     House of Representatives.
20         (7) One member appointed by the President of the
21     Senate.
22         (8) One member appointed by the Minority Leader of the
23     Senate.

1     Section 10. Duties; meetings; report.
2     (a) The Task Force shall study the costs and the
3 effectiveness of a program for the removal of gang tattoos.
4     (b) The Task Force shall meet within 90 days after the
5 appointment of all of its members and once per month
6 thereafter.
7     (c) The Task Force shall report its findings to the General
8 Assembly no later than January 1, 2009.
 
9     Section 15. Reimbursement. Members shall serve without
10 compensation but shall, subject to appropriation, be
11 reimbursed for reasonable and necessary expenses actually
12 incurred in the performance of the member's official duties.
 
13     Section 20. Staffing. The Department of Public Health, the
14 Department of State Police, and the Department of Corrections
15 shall provide the staff and administrative support necessary
16 for the Task Force to complete its work.
 
17     Section 25. Repeal. This Act is repealed on January 2,
18 2009.
 
19     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
20 becoming law.
