HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to congratulate Principal
4 Stephanie Di Prima and Father Wayne Prist of Queen of All
5 Saints School in Chicago on the school being named as a "No
6 Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon School" by the United States
7 Department of Education; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Six Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic Schools were
9 named by Secretary Margaret Spellings of the U.S. Department of
10 Education as No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon Schools,
11 representing the most from any school system in the nation this
12 year; and
 
13     WHEREAS, 2008 makes the second consecutive year
14 Archdiocesan Catholic schools have earned the distinction of
15 being the school system with the largest number of No Child
16 Left Behind-Blue Ribbon Schools; and
 
17     WHEREAS, Since 2003, a total of 21 Archdiocesan Catholic
18 schools have been designated as No Child Left Behind-Blue
19 Ribbon Schools; since 1983, Archdiocese of Chicago Catholic
20 Schools have received this distinction on 51 occasions; and
 
21     WHEREAS, The principal and a teacher from each school will

1 receive a plaque and a flag signifying their No Child Left
2 Behind-Blue Ribbon School status at a U.S. Department of
3 Education ceremony on October 20-21, 2008 in Washington, D.C.;
4 once they have returned to their schools, Masses, ceremonies,
5 and school pep rallies will be scheduled in celebration of
6 achieving No Child Left Behind-Blue Ribbon School status; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Principal Di Prima and Father Prist can both be
8 proud of their school earning this distinction; therefore, be
9 it
 
10     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
11 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
12 congratulate the staff, faculty, and students of Queen of All
13 Saints School on this award; and be it further
 
14     RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution be
15 presented to Principal Stephanie Di Prima and Father Wayne
16 Prist as symbols of our respect and esteem.
