HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of John
4 Ruettiger of Joliet, who passed away on July 14, 2007; and
 
5     WHEREAS, John Ruettiger was born on December 30, 1968 in
6 Joliet; his parents were Bob and Sue (Atchley) Ruettiger; and
 
7     WHEREAS, John Ruettiger was a graduate of St. Patrick Grade
8 School and Providence High School, where he earned his high
9 school diploma in 1987; he attended Joliet Junior College from
10 1987 to 1989; and
 
11     WHEREAS, John Ruettiger joined the Will County Sheriff's
12 Department in February 1990; he worked at the Will County Adult
13 Detention Facility from 1990 to 1996; he worked at the Will
14 County Sheriff's Police Patrol Division from 1996 to 1999; he
15 worked at the Will County Sheriff's Police Criminal
16 Investigations Division from 1999 until 2005, when he returned
17 to the Police Patrol Division; he also served as a certified
18 field training officer for the Police Patrol Division, an
19 instructor on crime scene preservation, a juvenile officer, a
20 hostage negotiator, a crisis line operator, and a certified
21 arson investigator; and he was a member of the Fraternal Order
22 of Police; and

1     WHEREAS, John Ruettiger was the recipient of numerous
2 awards in recognition of his service, including the Meritorious
3 Service Award, the Distinguished Service Award, and the
4 Investigations Division Unit Award; and
 
5     WHEREAS, John Ruettiger took great pride in mentoring young
6 children throughout the Will County area; and
 
7     WHEREAS, John Ruettiger is survived by his loving wife of
8 18 years, Lynn (Wysock) Ruettiger; his children, Andrew and
9 Amber Ruettiger; his parents; his sisters, Renee (Vince)
10 Gambino and Laura (Jake) Jakovich; his father-in-law and
11 mother-in-law, Edward and Frances (House) Wysock; his
12 brothers-in-law, Brett Wysock and Kurt (Jenny) Wysock; and
13 numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, fellow
14 deputies, and dear friends; therefore, be it
 
15     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
16 NINETY-FIFTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
17 mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of John
18 Ruettiger; and be it further
 
19     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
20 presented to the family of John Ruettiger as an expression of
21 our sympathy.
