SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Jimmie D. "Jim" Hess of
4 Marion on July 18, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Hess was born June 4, 1946, in Marion, to
6 Robert T. "Bob" and Margaret Lucille (Alsup) Hess; and
 
7     WHEREAS, He was in the U.S. Navy, where he was a top watch
8 boiler, making repairs and organizing the repair crew; he
9 received an honorable discharge, as well as many other medals
10 and awards, and later transferred to the Naval Reserve; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church; he was
12 an avid fisherman and loved spending time with his family; he
13 worked as a coal miner at Kerr McGee, where he received many
14 mining certificates; and
 
15     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents; his
16 brother, Perry Dean Hess; several aunts and uncles; a special
17 great-niece, Angel Ann Sheppard; and a special sister-in-law,
18 Barbara Hess; and
 
19     WHEREAS, The passing of Jimmie Hess is felt by all who knew
20 and loved him, especially his mother, June Donelson Hess; his
21 brothers, Johnny Hess, Bobby Hess and wife Sheila, Jeff Hess,
22 and Timothy J. "Joe" Hess and wife Teresa; his sister, Roberta
23 Goldsmith and husband Stan; his sister-in-law, Aleen Hess; his
24 nieces, Margaret Hutton and husband Valley, Janice Kniffen and
25 husband Michael, and Patti Williamson and husband Jeff; his
26 nephews, Jimmy Jarvis Hess and wife Heather, Tim Teeling and
27 wife Tammy, Mike Teeling and wife Bertha, and Daniel Teeling;
28 his special great-nieces, Chastity and Johna Hutton and special
29 great-nephew, Westley Hutton; and his numerous great-nieces
30 and nephews; therefore, be it

1     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we express our most
3 sincere regret at the passing of Jimmie Hess and extend our
4 condolences to his family, friends, and community; and be it
5 further
 
6     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
8 sympathy.
