SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Edith Adina Durham of
4 Goreville on July 12, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mrs. Durham was born October 23, 1917, the
6 daughter of Charles A. and Grace (Hill) Houston of rural Marion
7 in Williamson County; she married Victor Durham on September
8 13, 1935, in Metropolis, and together they shared over 43 years
9 of marriage; and
 
10     WHEREAS, She was of the Protestant faith; her home and her
11 family were the center of her life; she always enjoyed the many
12 family gatherings and the company of her family and many good
13 friends; and
 
14     WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her parents; her
15 husband, Victor Durham; her daughter, Vicki L. Durham; her
16 infant granddaughter, Adina Ann Ragain; her grandson, James
17 Darren Johnson; her sisters, Mary Ellen Rinella, Esther
18 Perrine, Rowena Greene, and infant sister, Lillian Houston; and
19 her brothers, Sam Houston, Robert Houston, and Walter Houston;
20 and
 
21     WHEREAS, The passing of Edith Durham is felt by all who
22 knew and loved her, especially her son, James H. Durham; her
23 daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anna and Herschel Johnson; her
24 daughter and grandson, Nancy Durham and her son Paul Derrick
25 Durham; her grandchildren, Darrell Johnson and his wife,
26 Christina, Rhonda Hall, Timothy Ragain, Deidra Dunne, and James
27 G. Durham; her great-grandchildren, Kerri Leann Hall, Trinity
28 Paige Harner, Stephanie Betz, Andrew Johnson, and Joseph
29 Johnson; her great-great-grandchildren, Scott Darren Betz,
30 Audra Betz, Colton Betz, and Jayden; her brother and
31 sister-in-law, Charles and Mary K. Houston; her

1 sisters-in-law, Helen Houston, Phyllis Houston, Mary Lou
2 Durham, and Norma Durham; her brothers-in-law, Ernest "Ernie"
3 Rinella and Bill Durham and wife Sherry; and her many nieces,
4 nephews, other extended family, and many good friends;
5 therefore, be it
 
6     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
7 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8 Edith Durham and extend our sincerest condolences to her
9 family; and be it further
 
10     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11 presented to her family as an expression of our deepest
12 sympathy.
