SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of James L. Chamness of
4 Cobden on July 12, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Chamness was born March 9, 1929, in Cobden,
6 the son of Raymond and Elva Haley Chamness; he married Janie L.
7 Nance on June 9, 1951, in Piggott, Arkansas; and
 
8     WHEREAS, He was a member of the First Baptist Church in
9 Cobden; he was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict; he
10 was a self-employed plumber by trade for most of his life; and
 
11     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife,
12 and two brothers, Kenneth and Paul Glenn Chamness; and
 
13     WHEREAS, The passing of James Chamness is felt by all who
14 knew and loved him, especially his children, Mike and wife
15 Virginia Chamness, Scott and wife Vicki Chamness, David and
16 wife Tammy Chamness, Terrie and husband Willie Rhymer, and
17 Debbie and husband James Walker; his nine grandchildren and one
18 great-grandchild; his sisters, Helen Summers, Delores and
19 husband Bill Witthoft, and Bertha Seske; and his nieces,
20 nephews, other relatives, and many friends; therefore, be it
 
21     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
22 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
23 James Chamness and extend our sincerest condolences to his
24 family; and be it further
 
25     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to his family as an expression of our deepest
27 sympathy.
