SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 learned with sadness of the death of Carl D. Chaney of Benton
4 on Wednesday, July 6, 2005; and
 
5     WHEREAS, He was born in Benton on December 23, 1922, to
6 John and Myrtle (Beltz) Chaney; he married Marcella Kwiatkowski
7 on January 17, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan; she preceded him in
8 death; and
 
9     WHEREAS, Carl Doyle Chaney valiantly served his country as
10 a member of the U.S. Navy, receiving an honorable discharge on
11 January 19, 1946; he loved his family and his country; and
 
12     WHEREAS, He was a retired UMWA coal miner and avid
13 fisherman; for the last five years, Mr. Chaney had been
14 residing in Villa Ridge, Missouri; and
 
15     WHEREAS, The passing of Carl D. Chaney has been deeply felt
16 by many, especially his daughter, Cindy Rumsey; his son, Gary
17 Chaney and wife, Cathy; his grandchildren, Tina Matheis and
18 husband, Rob, Chris Rumsey, and Brad Chaney; his
19 great-grandsons, Nicolas and Trent Matheis; his
20 step-grandchildren, Joshuah Lemons and wife, Amanda, and
21 Justin and Jamie Lemons; his great-step-grandsons, Paxton
22 Higgerson and Cameron Lemons; his brother, Clarence Chaney and
23 wife, Donna; his sister, Johnie Mae Dallape; and his many
24 nieces and nephews; he was also preceded in death by his
25 parents, two brothers, one sister, and an infant son;
26 therefore, be it
 
27     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
28 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
29 Carl D. Chaney, and we extend our sincere condolences to his
30 family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
