HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The 69th General Assembly in 1955 established the
3 University of Illinois Police Training Institute for the
4 purpose of training police officers in the State of Illinois in
5 the methods of maintaining police services at a level
6 consistent with the needs of the community; and
 
7     WHEREAS, Over the last 50 years, more than 150,000 Illinois
8 police officers have attended courses at the Institute; and
 
9     WHEREAS, The Institute is now a recognized national and
10 international leader in the development and delivery of viable
11 curricula to meet the contemporary needs of police officers;
12 and
 
13     WHEREAS, The Institute continues to provide training to
14 agencies throughout the State of Illinois; and
 
15     WHEREAS, The Institute has developed curricula and
16 delivery methods that have become models for training programs
17 throughout the United States; therefore, be it
 
18     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20 the unique contributions of the University of Illinois Police
21 Training Institute are recognized on the anniversary of the
22 Institute's 50th year of service to Illinois Law Enforcement;
23 and be it further
 
24     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to University of Illinois President Joseph B. White
26 in honor of all those employees of the Institute responsible
27 for its success.
