SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the Senate of the State of Illinois
3 were saddened to learn of the death of John Louis Rubich of
4 Waukegan, formerly of North Chicago, on Wednesday, May 26,
5 2004; and
 
6     WHEREAS, John Louis Rubich was born on October 4, 1931, in
7 Elkton, Ohio; and
 
8     WHEREAS, Mr. Rubich was employed at Abbott Laboratories in
9 North Chicago for 28 years; pursuing a second career, he was
10 the Water Superintendent of North Chicago and supervised the
11 building of the new water plant; and
 
12     WHEREAS, Besides his professional life, he loved politics;
13 he served the citizens of North Chicago in several offices; he
14 was a Ward Committeeman of the first ward and Alderman of the
15 first ward in North Chicago; he served as a school board member
16 in both the grade school and high school boards in North
17 Chicago, and also served the citizens of Waukegan Township as a
18 Trustee; and
 
19     WHEREAS, Mr. Rubich was a Master Mason and a lifetime
20 member of the American-Croatian Waukegan Tamburitzans and
21 President of St. Mary's Lodge #75; he was also a 50-year member
22 of the Slovenian National Benefit Society (SNPJ) and a member
23 of the North Chicago Police Pension Board; and
 
24     WHEREAS, John Louis Rubich was loved by many and he will be
25 greatly missed; especially by his wife, Helen; his two
26 children, Christina and Louis; his three sisters, Marjorie
27 Buckoski, Violet Cahnand, and Mildred Oesch; and his brother,
28 Roy; and
 
29     WHEREAS, He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis

1 Rubich and Kathryn (Nuzum) Rubich; and an uncle, Peter Rubich;
2 therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
5 John Louis Rubich along with all who knew and loved him and
6 extend our sincere condolences to his family and friends; and
7 be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of John Louis Rubich as an expression
10 of our deepest sympathy.
