HOUSE RESOLUTION

 
2     WHEREAS, The members of the House of Representatives of the
3 State of Illinois learned with regret of the death of John B.
4 "Jack" Vahlkamp of Breese on Tuesday, February 3, 2004; and
 
5     WHEREAS, Mr. Vahlkamp was born on October 25, 1927, in Wade
6 Township to John H. and Rose (Wilken) Vahlkamp; he married Jane
7 Richter on October 25, 1950, at St. Augustine Church in Breese;
8 and
 
9     WHEREAS, Mr. Vahlkamp valiantly served his country during
10 the Korean War from 1951 to 1953 as a field radio repairman;
11 and
 
12     WHEREAS, Mr. Vahlkamp was a retired dairy and grain farmer;
13 he was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and Men's
14 Sodality in Breese; he was a past 30-year trustee of St. Mary
15 Catholic Church in Carlyle, a 50-year member of Carlyle Knights
16 of Columbus Council 1382, a 50-year member of Breese American
17 Legion Post 252, a member of the Catholic War Veterans, a past
18 secretary of the Clinton County Zoning Board, a past vice
19 president on the board of the Clinton County Farm Bureau, and a
20 past president of the MidAm Milk Producers of 25 years and the
21 Holstein Fresian Association; and
 
22     WHEREAS, The passing of John B. "Jack" Vahlkamp has been
23 deeply felt by many, especially his wife, Jane; his son, Alan
24 Vahlkamp and wife Janet; his daughters, Julie Huels and husband
25 Joseph, Lisa Tebbe and husband Carl, and Rose Huelskamp and
26 husband Gerard; his brothers, Fred Vahlkamp and wife Mary Jo
27 and Vernon Vahlkamp and wife Helen; his sisters, Willene
28 Fehrmann and husband Paul, Rose Marie Husmann and husband Ray,
29 Lillian Fleckenstein and husband Jack, Mary Huwa, and Lee Love
30 and husband Dan; and his grandchildren, Leagha, Alie, and Abie
31 Vahlkamp, Erika and Erin Kratzner, Zachary, Cody, Ashley, and

1 Alex Huels, Nick, Casey, and Max Tebbe, and Colton, Dawson, and
2 Adison Huelskamp; therefore, be it
 
3     RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
4 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we
5 mourn the passing of John B. "Jack" Vahlkamp, and we extend our
6 deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all who knew and
7 loved him; and be it further
 
8     RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
9 presented to the family of John B. "Jack" Vahlkamp as an
10 expression of our sincere condolences.
