 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The highest award the National  Council  of  the
 3    Boy  Scouts  of  America  can  bestow upon a Scout is that of
 4    Eagle Scout; and

 5        WHEREAS, Robert A. Contreras of Boy Scout Troop  306,  in
 6    Chicago,  will  receive  the  Eagle Scout Award at a Court of
 7    Honor to be held on June 14,2003, at the St.  Agnes  Catholic
 8    Church gymnasium in Chicago; and

 9        WHEREAS,  In  order to qualify as an Eagle Scout, a young
10    man must demonstrate outstanding qualities of  leadership,  a
11    willingness  to  be of help to others, and superior skills in
12    camping, lifesaving, and first aid; Robert  earned  29  merit
13    badges during his seven years with troop 306; his Eagle Scout
14    project  was  a  diabetes  and high blood pressure screening,
15    which helped hundreds at risk in his community; and

16        WHEREAS, In earning this high rank, Robert  A.  Contreras
17    joins  an  elite  and  honorable fraternity of achievers that
18    counts among its members  an  extraordinary  number  of  this
19    nation's  great  leaders  in business, government, education,
20    and other sectors of society; and

21        WHEREAS, The achievement  of  the  rank  of  Eagle  Scout
22    reflects  favorably  upon  the  recipient,  his  justly proud
23    family, his Scoutmaster, and his fellow scouts; therefore, be
24    it

25        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES   OF   THE
26    NINETY-THIRD  GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
27    we join his family and friends in  congratulating  Robert  A.
28    Contreras  upon attaining the coveted rank of Eagle Scout and
29    commend him upon the unswerving dedication to excellence that
30    is the hallmark of the Eagle Scout; and be it further

31        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
