    AN ACT concerning local government.

    Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, 
3
represented in the General Assembly:

    Section 5. The Local Government Debt Limitation Act is 
5
amended by changing
Section 1.5b as follows:

    (50 ILCS 405/1.5b)  (from Ch. 85, par. 851.5b)

    Sec. 1.5b. The limitation prescribed in Section 1 of this 
8
Act does
shall not
apply to any indebtedness of any fire 
9
protection district to acquire,
establish, maintain and 
10
operate fire stations, including the acquisition of
a site or 
11
sites therefor, facilities, vehicles, apparatus and equipment 
12
for
fire protection purposes.
