 1                    AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 1366

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend House Bill 1366 as follows:

 3    on page 1, line 13, by changing "4 felony A  misdemeanor"  to
 4    "A misdemeanor"; and

 5    on  page  1  by  replacing  lines  23  through  25  with  the
 6    following:
 7        "(a-7)  A  person  convicted  for  a  violation  of  this
 8    Section  whose violation was the proximate cause of an injury
 9    to a peace officer is guilty of a Class 4 felony.
10        (a-8)  A person  who,  having  been  given  a  visual  or
11    audible  signal  by a peace officer, correctional institution
12    employee, or probation  officer  that  he  or  she  is  under
13    arrest,  willfully  flees or attempts to elude the officer is
14    guilty of a Class 4 felony.  The signal given  by  the  peace
15    officer may be by hand, voice, siren, red or blue light.  The
16    officer  giving  such signal shall be in police uniform, and,
17    if driving a vehicle, the vehicle shall  display  illuminated
18    oscillating,  rotating,  or flashing red or blue lights which
19    when used in conjunction with an audible horn or siren  would
20    indicate the vehicle to be an official police vehicle.".
