AMENDMENT TO HOUSE BILL 649

2     AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend House Bill 649 by replacing
3 everything after the enacting clause with the following:
 
4     "Section 5. The Illinois Equine Infectious Anemia Control
5 Act is amended by changing Section 4 as follows:
 
6     (510 ILCS 65/4)  (from Ch. 8, par. 954)
7     Sec. 4. Tests of equidae entering the State. All equidae
8 more than 12 months of age entering the State for any reason
9 other than for immediate slaughter shall be accompanied by a
10 Certificate of Veterinary Inspection issued by an accredited
11 veterinarian of the state of origin within 30 days prior to
12 entry and shall be negative to an official test for EIA within
13 one year prior to entry. Equidae entering the State for
14 immediate slaughter shall be accompanied by a consignment
15 direct to slaughter at an approved equine slaughtering
16 establishment.

19     Sec. 4.3. Auction certificate of notification. Any equine
20 owner who sells or otherwise transfers an equine in an equine
21 auction must sign, upon consignment, a certificate of
22 notification acknowledging that he or she has been made aware
23 of the fact that the auctioned equine may be sold for

1 slaughter. A copy of the certificate of notification shall
2 accompany the equine upon sale or transfer. The person or
3 entity conducting the auction shall provide the certificate of
4 notification.
 
5     Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon
6 becoming law.".
