SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Georgia Grace Saffo; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo was born to Leonard and Annie Laura
5Graham Zackery in Covington, Georgia on November 26, 1930; she
6married Walter J. Saffo in the early 1950s; she joined St. Paul
7AME Church at an early age and served there until she moved to
8Cleveland, Ohio in 1960; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo worked as a dental technician and
10HeadStart preschool educator after college in the 1980s; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo enjoyed cooking, listening to jazz
12music, and spending time with her family; her legacy of faith
13and service continues to inspire her loved ones; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo was preceded in death by her
15parents and her husband, Walter; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Georgia Saffo was mother to seven children;
17grandmother to 15 grandchildren; great-grandmother to 24
18great-grandchildren; great-great-grandmother to four
19great-great grandchildren; and sister to three siblings;
20therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
3Georgia Grace Saffo and extend our sincere condolences to her
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it
5further
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
7presented to the family of Georgia Saffo as an expression of
8our deepest sympathy.
