SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Keith E. Myers of Springfield, who
4passed away on March 6, 2024; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Keith Myers was born to Robert L. and Sandy K.
6Gilbert Myers in Springfield on March 31, 1971; he graduated
7from Riverton High School in 1990; and
 
8    WHEREAS, Keith Myers began his culinary career at Maverick
9Family Steakhouse, where he worked for over 25 years; he
10served as the food and beverage director at Brenden Gardens
11for the past 12 years, dedicating himself to caring for the
12residents; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Keith Myers had a strong passion for all sports,
14including football, baseball, and golf; he was an avid Kansas
15City Chiefs, Chicago White Sox, and Fighting Illini fan; he
16was devoted to his son, Wesley, and he strove to attend as many
17of his son's football games as possible; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Keith Myers was an extremely hardworking,
19dedicated, and loyal man with a heart of gold; he will be
20remembered for his smile and his amazing sense of humor; and

1    WHEREAS, Keith Myers was preceded in death by his father;
2his paternal grandparents, James Myers and Ethel Myers; his
3maternal grandparents, Henry Gilbert and Margaret Gilbert; and
4several cousins; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Keith Myers is survived by his mother; his son,
6Wesley Myers; his stepson, Christopher Pettit; his brothers,
7Robert (Mary Beth) Myers and Mark (Jackie) Myers; his sister,
8Dr. Kris Myers; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews,
9and cousins; therefore, be it
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
11ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
12Keith E. Myers and extend our sincere condolences to his
13family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
14further
 
15    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
16presented to the family of Keith Myers as an expression of our
17deepest sympathy.
