SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Paul L. Danner of Illinois City, who
4passed away on December 29, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Paul Danner was born to Albert and Mildred
6(Dunker) Danner in Illinois City on January 20, 1933; he
7graduated from Reynolds High School; he served in the U.S.
8Army during the Korean War; he married JoAnn Hofer in Illinois
9City on December 28, 1952; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Paul Danner worked and retired as an outside
11salesman for Republic Companies; he also owned and operated a
12furniture and appliance store in Illinois City for many years;
13and
 
14    WHEREAS, Paul Danner was a charter member of the Illinois
15City Buffalo Prairie Fire Department and served as a trustee
16of the Buffalo Prairie Fire Protection District for over 50
17years; he was a member of the Illinois City Fur, the Fin and
18Feather Conservation Club, the Buffalo Prairie Masonic Lodge,
19and the Moline Consistory, and he was a past member of the
20Illinois City Cemetery Board; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Paul Danner enjoyed golfing, fishing, and

1hunting; he was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan; his greatest
2joy in life was spending time with his grandchildren and
3great-grandchildren; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Paul Danner was preceded in death by his parents;
5and
 
6    WHEREAS, Paul Danner is survived by his wife of 71 years,
7JoAnn Danner; his sons, Rex Danner and Ron (Laurie) Danner;
8his granddaughters, Kindra (Zach) Bever and Morgan (Lucas)
9Gosney; his great-grandchildren, Jaedyn, Logan, Oliver, and
10Kayce; his sister, Bonnie Reason; and several nieces and
11nephews; therefore, be it
 
12    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
13ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
14Paul L. Danner and extend our sincere condolences to his
15family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
16further
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
18presented to the family of Paul Danner as an expression of our
19deepest sympathy.
