SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3to learn of the death of Henry A. "Hank" Sundeen Jr. of Moline,
4who passed away December 7, 2023; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Hank Sundeen was born in Moline to Henry and
6Eugenie (Renolot) Sundeen on February 5, 1947; he served in
7the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he married Valarie "Val"
8Neubauer in Rock Island on June 25, 1973; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Hank Sundeen retired from the Rock Island Arsenal
10as department manager and was a sports writer for the Rock
11Island Dispatch Argus; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Hank Sundeen was a member of the Alleman Booster
13Club and Illinois High School Association basketball,
14baseball, football, and track and field; he was an avid
15volunteer for many organizations; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Hank Sundeen was preceded in death by his wife,
17Val; his daughter, Holly Marie; and his brother, Bernard
18Sundeen; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Hank Sundeen is survived by his children, Andy
20(Michelle) Sundeen and Christine (James) Jorgensen; his

1grandchildren, Jason (Christine), Jamie (Steve), Matthew
2(Tre), Alyse (Nick), Braden, and Carter; his
3great-grandchildren, Lucas, Owen, Mila, Conner, and Leah; and
4his brother, John (Clarice) Sundeen; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Henry A. "Hank" Sundeen Jr. and extend our sincere condolences
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Hank Sundeen as an expression of our
12deepest sympathy.
