2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened |
3 | | to learn of the death of Donald C. Hampton of Galva, formerly |
4 | | of Kewanee, who passed away on January 30, 2023; and
|
5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hampton was born to Wren C. and Lela |
6 | | (Fawcett) Hampton in Peoria on May 30, 1930; he attended |
7 | | Kewanee schools; he served in the U.S. Army from 1947 to 1950; |
8 | | he married Alma J. Burch in Kewanee on December 3, 1950, and |
9 | | they later divorced; and
|
10 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hampton worked for and retired from the |
11 | | John Deere Company; and
|
12 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hampton was an avid St. Louis Cardinals |
13 | | fan; and
|
14 | | WHEREAS, Donald Hampton was preceded in death by his |
15 | | parents; his ex-wife; his daughter, Glenda Wallace; his |
16 | | grandsons, Justin and Rex Hampton; his great-grandson, Hampton |
17 | | Johnson; his brothers, Wren, Nick, Kenney, Robert, Howard, and |
18 | | Fred; and his sisters, Barbara, Sheila, Lela, and Alberta in |
19 | | infancy; and
|
20 | | WHEREAS, At the time of his passing, Donald Hampton was |

1 | | survived by his partner of 30 years, Marilyn Hass; his |
2 | | children, Donya (Dennis) Price, Shirlee (Greg) Fritch, Sheila |
3 | | (Dewayne) Willey, Sharon (Dan) Jaques, and Chris (Lisa) |
4 | | Hampton; his son-in-law, Mike Wallace; Marilyn's children, |
5 | | Missy (Brent) Stewart and Richard Hass; his grandchildren, |
6 | | Dean (Rachelle) Price, Duane (Torri) Price, Stephanie (Brad) |
7 | | Fritch, Chet Fritch, Brett (Jessica) Johnson, Donald |
8 | | (Stephanie) Johnson, Jerry Johnson, Chris (Brittany) Johnson, |
9 | | Joyce Willey, Stephan Johnson DeRosalyn, Jules (Luke) |
10 | | Quedenfield, Jared Jaques, Alyssa (Dom) Greer, and Nicholas |
11 | | Wallace; 21 great-grandchildren; and three |
12 | | great-great-grandchildren, with one on the way; therefore, be |

14 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED THIRD GENERAL |
15 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
16 | | Donald C. Hampton and extend our sincere condolences to his |
17 | | family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it |
18 | | further

19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
20 | | presented to the family of Donald Hampton as an expression of |
21 | | our deepest sympathy.
