2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 2136 by deleting
3line 1 on page 50 through line 2 on page 51; and
 
4on page 51, line 3, by replacing "(2)" with "(1)"; and
 
5on page 52, line 7, by replacing "(3)" with "(2)"; and
 
6on page 53, line 2, by replacing "(4)" with "(3)"; and
 
7on page 53, line 6, by replacing "(5)" with "(4)"; and
 
8on page 53, line 11, by replacing "(6)" with "(5)"; and
 
9on page 53, line 14, by replacing "(7)" with "(6)"; and

9    Sec. 122-9. Institution of proceedings. Any individual may
10at any time institute proceedings under this Article,
11notwithstanding that he or she is no longer imprisoned and
12notwithstanding that his or her liberties are not being
13currently curtailed by action of the State, if his or her
14conviction has potential consequences under federal
15immigration law. For purposes of this subsection, "conviction"
16refers to any disposition where the individual has pleaded or
17been found guilty in state court, regardless of whether the
18state court entered judgment on the matter.".
