SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William D. "Bill" Sexton of Bloomington,
4who passed away on October 4, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Sexton was born in Mohegan, West Virginia to
6John Foster and Susie Katheline (Perry) Sexton on August 3,
71932; he served in the United States Army in Korea and married
8Virginia Sue Hatfield in Tazewell, Virginia on July 12, 1952;
9and
 
10    WHEREAS, Bill Sexton worked in the trucking industry before
11starting his own business, Sexton's Pack & Load, which he ran
12until his retirement in 2012; and
 
13    WHEREAS, Bill Sexton enjoyed the outdoors, especially
14boating, hunting, and fishing, and spending time with his
15family; and
 
16    WHEREAS, Bill Sexton was preceded in death by his parents;
17four brothers; six sisters; his sons, William Anthony "Tony"
18Sexton and Gary Don Sexton; and his grandson, Travis Peak; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Bill Sexton is survived by his wife of 68 years,
20Virginia; his daughter, Sandra (Carl) Swift; his sister, Betty

1Sue "Frankie" King; his daughter-in-law, Tannis (Morril)
2Sexton; his grandchildren, Asa Sexton, Naomi Sexton, Ezra
3Sexton, Brandy (Jacob) Boyd, Conward Swift, Michael Swift,
4Jeremy Peak, Sheree Peak, and Melissa Sexton; 10
5great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; therefore,
6be it
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
9William D. "Bill" Sexton and extend our sincere condolences to
10his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
11further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Bill Sexton as an expression of our
14deepest sympathy.
