SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Richard Paul "Dick" Hewitt of East
4Moline, who passed away on January 10, 2020; and
 
5    WHEREAS, RICHARD HEWITT was born in Moline to R. Terry and
6Cora (Lievens) Hewitt on November 29, 1934; he attended St.
7Anne Grade School and graduated from Alleman High School, Class
8of 1952; he was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church; he served
9in the US Army; he married Chloe Kraft in 1964; and
 
10    WHEREAS, Richard Hewitt and his wife Chloe owned Richard
11Hewitt Carpets; he was a carpet installer for 65 years and had
12still not retired at the time of his passing; he truly enjoyed
13his work and his customers; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Richard Hewitt was an avid Alleman High School and
15Chicago Cubs sports fan, attending as many games as he could;
16he loved traveling with Chloe, especially to their beloved
17Ixtapa, Mexico to spend part of the winter; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Richard Hewitt was preceded in death by his
19parents, aunts, and uncles; and
 
20    WHEREAS, Richard Hewitt is survived by his wife, Chloe; his

1daughter, Candace (David) Sountris; his grandsons, Jared and
2Ethan Sountris; his sisters, Mary Jo Kline and Mydge (Duane)
3Krob; his aunt, Mary Young; and many nieces, nephews, and
4cousins; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
7Richard Paul "Dick" Hewitt and extend our sincere condolences
8to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
9it further
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
11presented to the family of Richard Hewitt as an expression of
12our deepest sympathy.
