SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Charles P. "Chuck" Sladek Jr. of East
4Moline, who passed away on November 6, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Chuck Sladek was born in Moline to Charles "Bapa"
6Sr. and Annette "Mimi" Schulz Sladek on October 4, 1936; he
7graduated from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa and
8served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Chuck Sladek worked as a supply department manager
10at U.S. Marine Corps Air Station El Toro near Irvine,
11California; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Chuck Sladek was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs
13and the Chicago Bears; his favorite times were those he spent
14with his family and friends; he will be lovingly remembered as
15a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend,
16and will be greatly missed; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Chuck Sladek was preceded in death by his parents;
18his sister, Annette "Bunny" Turner; and one niece; and
 
19    WHEREAS, Chuck Sladek is survived by his sons, Bob
20(Lishar), Jim, and Tom (Anita) Sladek; his grandchildren,

1Olivia, Noah, Christina, Danielle, Michael, Anthony, and
2Amanda; his great-grandchildren, Grayson and Weston; his
3sisters, Dolly Grupalo and Beth Wise; five nieces and nephews;
4his girlfriend, Jane Gish; and numerous friends; therefore, be
5it
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
8Charles P. "Chuck" Sladek Jr. and extend our sincere
9condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved
10him; and be it further
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12presented to the family of Chuck Sladek as an expression of our
13deepest sympathy.
