SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William F. Drennan of Gurnee, who passed
4away on June 14, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, William Drennan was born in Oak Park to John and
6Ella Drennan on June 7, 1930; he graduated from Fenwick High
7School and Loras College; and
 
8    WHEREAS, William Drennan spent his career in accounting and
9finance; he served as treasurer of DBA Products in Lake Bluff
10for over 20 years; he was treasurer for the Village of
11Wadsworth for 12 years; and
 
12    WHEREAS, William Drennan was a parishioner of St. Patrick's
13Church in Wadsworth for 54 years, where he served as a member
14of the first Parish council, as a member of the school board,
15and, for over 40 years, as an usher; he served on the board for
16Chicago Studies for many years; he volunteered on the Police
17Pension Board of Gurnee; he enjoyed his time as treasurer for
18Little League baseball in Gurnee; he was an avid golfer and a
19great gin rummy player; he was a fan of the Chicago Cubs and
20Notre Dame football; he was a devoted husband, father, and
21grandfather; and

1    WHEREAS, William Drennan was preceded in death by his
2parents and his brother, John "Jack" Drennan; and
 
3    WHEREAS, William Drennan is survived by his wife of 61
4years, Helen; his children, William (Ann) Drennan, Eileen
5(Jeff) Kregor, John (Cheryl) Drennan, Terry (Anne) Drennan,
6Patrick (Marilyn) Drennan, and Peggy (Michael) Meagher; his
7grandchildren, Maggie (Eric Barrowclaugh), Charlie (Ellie),
8Michael, Katie (Jake Senesac), Sean, Alex, Josh, Chris, Luke,
9Zach, Frankie, and Jake; and his great-granddaughter, Amelia;
10therefore, be it
 
11    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
12ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
13William F. Drennan and extend our sincere condolences to his
14family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it
15further
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
17presented to the family of William Drennan as an expression of
18our deepest sympathy.
