SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of William Bliss "Bill" Brown of Joliet, who
4passed away on April 29, 2019; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Bill Brown was born in Joliet to Pliny Bliss and
6Ruth (Scully) Brown on October 25, 1927; he graduated from
7Farragut Elementary School and Joliet Township High School; he
8received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from
9the University of Illinois and served in the United States Army
10Air Force during World War II from 1946 to 1948; and
 
11    WHEREAS, Bill Brown worked as an engineer in the roofing
12and construction industries; after he retired, he operated B&B
13Exterminators; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Bill Brown was an avid gardener and enjoyed taking
15care of his yard; he and his wife, Betty, took many trips to Au
16Train Township, Michigan and passed their love of the Upper
17Peninsula on to their children and grandchildren; and
 
18    WHEREAS, Bill Brown was preceded in death by his wife,
19Elizabeth Jane "Betty" (Fitzgerald) Brown; his son, Michael
20Brown; his parents; his sister, Ruth Ellis; and his wife's
21siblings, Mary Lu (Arthur) Silk, William (Marietta)

1Fitzgerald, and Jack (Mariann) Fitzgerald; and
 
2    WHEREAS, Bill Brown is survived by his children, Mary
3(Bill) Whitmer, Kevin (Stacey) Brown, and Meg (Nick) Honiotes;
4his daughter-in-law, Carol (Kim) Warpinski; his grandchildren,
5Patrick (Tricia) Brown, Kerry Brown, Ryan Brown, Fr. John
6Honiotes, Maira (Ryan) Dunphy, Elizabeth (Joshua) Lim, Keenan
7Whitmer, Casey (Camille Green) Whitmer, Conor Whitmer, Bridget
8(Brendan) Smyth, Tim (Kelsie) Brown, Tom Brown, Kate Brown,
9Emily Warpinski, Andrew (Melissa) Warpinski, Ellen Warpinski,
10Alex (Erin) Warpinski, Adam Warpinski, and Gus Warpinski; his
11great-grandchildren, Mary, Francis, Joseph, John, Brendan,
12Liam, Theo, and AJ; his sister, Mary Ann "Bunny" (the late
13James) Lydon; his sister-in-law, Kate (the late Joe) Broderick;
14and many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE ONE HUNDRED FIRST GENERAL
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of
17William Bliss "Bill" Brown and extend our sincere condolences
18to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be
19it further
 
20    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
21presented to the family of Bill Brown as an expression of our
22deepest sympathy.
